Victory Raceway is hosting a memorial race in remembrance of motorsport legend, Curt Alchin, on Saturday, January 18. Alchin was a multiple South African champion in oval racing and other facets, who passed away on January 28, 2012, while competing in a V8 American Saloon race. The event is taking place at Victory Raceway, Victoria Drive, Walmer. Gates open at 14:00 and racing starts at 18:00. Entry is R50 for adults and R20 for children under 13. Track parking is R20 per vehicle. Classes competing are Jnr Hot Rods, Pinkrods, 1660’s, 2.1 Modifieds, Heavy Metals and American Saloons. Braai facilities are available as well as foodstalls.
