TWO weeks with seven adrenaline-packed events . . .

Top-class surfing, hardcore trail runs, high-octane action, a gruelling mountain bike ride and prime entertainment are all on the cards for one of the biggest winter festivals in the country – the 2019 JBay Winterfest. It is set to return from July 6 to 22 July.

The Corona JBay Open Men’s and Women’s surfing competition, a World Championship Tour and the anchor event of the festival, will see some of the best surfers battle it out at Supertubes – including defending champion and 2017 champion Filipe Toledo from Brazil.

Two-times event champion, Jordy Smith from Durban, will also ride the waves.

They will be joined by Australian-surfer Wade Carmichael and USA’s 11-time world champion Kelly Slater.

On the women’s tour, event defending champion and current world champion Stephanie Gilmore from Australia will bring her smooth and stylish approach to the event, hoping to claim her second win to follow on from her victory at the inaugural event last year.

Lakey Peterson (USA) and Carissa Moore (Hawaii) will be hot on her heels, along with the fierce Brazilian competitor, Tatiana Weston-Webb, and the dynamic Hawaiian surfer, Coco Ho.
