Magdalena Lategan, Jeffreys Bay resident and veterinarian at Cape Cross Animal Clinic, will host an adrenaline-pumping laser game challenge at Laser Game Jeffreys Bay on Saturday, August 31, to raise funds for 7th Heaven Children’s Haven – a safe haven for over 30 children between 11 months and 20 years.

“Up to four players, aged five years and older, can battle it out in one round of 10 minutes – either as a team or individually. Businesses are welcome to challenge one another,” says Lategan.

“No experience is needed. Each player will be equipped with a laser gun and laser gun suit. A detailed briefing will round off their arsenal.

“Then it is time to go to battle. Whether you are a sharp shooter, top shot or newbie to laser tag, remember, you want to take out your armed opponent before they get you – even if you have to spin, duck or weave.

“Teams and individuals with the highest scores, will advance to the next round – battling it out to be crowned the ultimate laser game winners.”

According to Lategan, the goal of the challenge is to have fun and bring as many residents as possible together – all while creating awareness about the non-profit haven, which was started in 2002 by Nelly Senong who has dedicated her life to the care of children in need, and raising much-need funds. The haven is a safe house for lost and abandoned children, a charity day care centre and a full-time children’s home. Their core values are to be a family, to develop the children entering through their doors, to restore their dignity and to show them the love of Jesus.

The entry fee is R200 per team of four players and R50 per person.

Entry forms are available at JBay Laser Games, Cape Cross Veterinary Clinic and Victory Christian School.

Various prizes will be up for grabs.

Businesses can advertise on the day at the venue for a small donation towards the organisation or sponsor a prize.

More fun

There will, furthermore, be pool and board games at a cost of R5 per game for young and old, as well as a jumping castle for the children.

Various food stalls will be availlable.

There will also be toddler care on the day.
