HE did it again.
Percy Chikwira of Infood Jeffreys Bay won the Excellence in Coffee Award, which is bestowed upon one who excels as an innovative leader in his chosen area of the Coffee Value Stream.
This lanky man is highly respected among coffee aficionados and in the said business. Percy is general manager at Infood Coffee Society, a humble man who extracts a whiff of heaven from beans to produce the black gold of aromatic coffee.
This year he competed against bigwigs in the coffee world, like Rosetta’s Jono La Feuvre and Renato Correira of EspressoLab Microroasters et al., in the prestigious Coffee Magazine Awards.
An inspiration, Percy started out as a junior barista at Infood Bakery, and has since embraced every available opportunity to further his education and pursue excellence in his craft.
This qualified roaster is also part owner of Infood Coffee Society, the brainchild of restaurateur and chef Jane Davies.
Infood was also nominated in the category of Coffee Team of the Year. This part of the awards is in recognition of people that make a coffee company great, uphold the same values and who consistently serve with excellence.
Judges are past winners.
