SOME 200 mountain bike enthusiasts competing in the diverse Prudential PE PLETT 4-day mountain bike stage race, left the starting blocks at Woodridge College this morning.

Awarded international UCI status, the event will see the likes of SA Marathon Champion Gert Heyns teaming up with Arno du Toit, Julian Jessop (Africa u.23 champion) partnering with Tim Hammond, and other top athletes – all competing for close to R200 000 in prize money.

The final finish, down the Otters Trail at Natures Valley some four days later, is one of the most beautiful finish lines one could wish for.
