Standard Bank, in conjunction with Kouga Municipality, donated 16 Little Library Numeracy Kits to eight primary schools across the region – each school receiving one English and one Afrikaans kit.

The schools are Kruisfontein Primary School, Mondplaas Primary School, Sea Vista Primary School, Quagga Primary School, Thornhill Primary School, Sandwater Primary School, Weston Primary School, and Pellsrus Primary School.

The kit consists of 60 readers, 12 big books, 12 colour posters, and one teacher’s guide – all introducing and reinforcing numeracy concepts and language.

The Little Library Numeracy Kit focuses on promoting basic numeracy skills to learners, five to nine years of age.

Through storytelling and reading, learners are encouraged to develop skills that lay the foundation for later mathematical instruction.
