Kouga locals are once again invited to showcase their special skills on stage at the annual Kouga Easter Festival this April.

The Mayoral Talent Search will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 7 and 8, at the Amphitheatre at Main Beach in Jeffreys Bay, as part of the fun-filled Kouga Easter Festival from April 7 to 9.

“We have some incredible talent in our communities and would like to showcase this for everyone to see – whether your talent is singing, dancing, comedy, drama, or magic tricks,” said Kouga Executive Mayor, Horatio Hendricks.

“No matter how old or young, if you can entertain a crowd, we want you to be part of the talent search. You just might add your name to the list of winners.”

Last year’s Kouga Mayoral Talent Search saw Jenedine Jantjies from Patensie taking first place after wowing the judges and audience with her beautiful voice – securing herself a recording opportunity with Collective Records.

Singer Olwethu Katoo, from Hankey, was named runner-up, followed by dancers, Kaylee Vosloo and Logan Harris, from St Francis Bay. The dance group, The Unexpected Dance Crew, consisting of Jayron Matsjowaan, Luciano Pieterse and Keanu Pieterse, claimed fourth place, followed by singers Mr Makes and Liena G.

Hendricks said that the aim of the event is not only to give locals a platform to showcase their talents, but also to help develop and uplift community members.

“Come and join in the fun and help us kick-off the Kouga Easter Festival on a high note,” he said.
