RACE . . . relax . . . eat . . . sleep . . . and race again. Repeat.
Athletes can once again put their endurance to the test at the annual one-of-a-kind Endurade JBayX two-day/ three-stage trail run from July 6 to 7 – the brainchild of Jeffreys B ay-resident Rieghard Janse van Rensburg.
The unique event entails three individual 20km trail runs – with all three runs starting 12 hours apart.
Covering a total distance of 60km, the trail run will test the mettle and endurance of all participants.
After just a few entries the first year, the event has grown in popularity and now sees a number of entries from all over the country into all three stages, as well as quite a few entries from runners who just want to enter a single stage.
The event grew from only nine runners in 2015, to 50 in 2017 – with more than 280 runners taking part in the 2018 individual runs.
There will also be a 10km trail run and a 5km fun beach run – suitable for the whole family.
