THE annual First Choice Race, previously known as the Woodlands Dairy Kouga Multisport Race, will once again usher in the new year.


THE annual First Choice Race, previously known as the Woodlands Dairy Kouga Multisport Race, will once again usher in the new year.

Along with the name change, a completely new look has been given to the race, including a venue change and new routes.

The 18th race takes place on January 5, 2019, at Victory Christian School in Jeffreys Bay.

The 15km race will take to the street at 06:30, while the 6km Fun Run will leave the starting blocks at 07:00. The 600m Mini Moo Dash, for children nine years and younger, will kick off at 08:45.

The event is registered with Eastern Pro-vince Athletics and is the first race on their athletics calendar.

Registered athletes participating in the 15km race will have the opportunity to earn league points.

Comedian Roland Gaspar from Algoa FM’s afternoon drive show will entertain participants and supporters.

There will also be jumping castles for the kids and food stalls.

The entry fee for the 15km race is R60 for licensed athletes and R100 for unlicensed athletes. A special rate of R30 for Eastern Province registered runners aged 65 years and older applies.

The entry fee for the 6km race and 600m is R40 and R10 respectively.

Entry forms are available at Compu-Camm Signs (Jeffreys Bay), Brian Bands (PE), The Footballer (PE), and Sportmans Warehouse (PE).

Participants can also enter at Victory Christian School from 17:00 to 19:00 on January 4, and from 05:15 to 06:15 on January.

The first 200 entrants will receive a free moisture management vest, while the first 1 000 entrants will receive a goodie bag.
