KOUGA will be left in the dark on Wednesday, August 14, from 05:00 to 18:00, as Eskom will switch off the power supply to most of the region.
The interruption is necessary for new installation work and planned maintenance by Eskom.
Kouga Infrastructure and Engineering Portfolio Councillor Freddy Campher says areas to be affected include Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, St Francis Bay, Cape St Francis, Oyster Bay, Hankey, Patensie and Loerie.
Areas excluded are Thornhill and the Gamtoos River Mouth area, whose power is supplied by the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Municipality.
“We would like to remind residents that all electrical appliances should be treated as live during the down period,” Campher says.
The shutdown is subject to the weather.
