THE Eastern Province Fancy Pigeon Association will hold their Championship Show at Altona School in Altona Road, Greenbushes, on Saturday, May 11 from 08:00 to 14:30.
The top seven pigeons, as well as the Champion Show Pigeon will be selected at the show that is set to boast a total of 418 entries and over 60 different pigeon breeds.
The winning pigeons represent the Eastern Cape at the national Fancy Pigeon Association show in Pretoria later this year.
“The function of the Eastern Province Fancy Pigeon Association and its counterparts is to preserve the heritage of pigeons, as well as to ensure the quality of the birds,” says President Nic Hanekom.
Entry to the show is free.
