JEFFREYS BAY – Police in Jeffreys Bay are investigating an inquest after the body of Jacobus Du Plessis (72) was found with a gunshot wound at Blue Horizon Flats in Diaz Road, Jeffreys Bay on 17 October.

According to police spokesperson Captain Marius McCarthy, on 17 October around 15:30, it is alleged that police members were summoned to a complaint of a shooting at Blue Horizon Flats.

“At the scene, police found the body of a 72-year-old man, who was alone on the premises,” said McCarthy.

“Police also seized a firearm.”

McCarthy said that the investigation is ongoing.
