Local modelling agency, Feline Models, founded by Philene van Niekerk, will host a model of the year competition for Kouga areas to identify new talent for national levels, on November 19, in Jeffreys Bay.
According to Van Niekerk, the local winners aged from three to 27, will be given an opportunity to work with the internationally registered modelling director of Pageant SA and compete nationally in Gauteng.
“Models who compete and win the national competition will be given the opportunity and support to compete internationally,” Van Niekerk said.
During the model of the year competition, there will be an elite set of judges, namely former agency model, Beverley Anne Page from Fanjam, Pulse Management and Boss Models, Councillor Bryan Dhludhlu, who has been part of local charity fashion shows and has assisted with training the male models for the show, and Chemoney Swanepoel, who was Miss Teen Eastern Cape 2020, Miss Teen Grand Supreme, Runway 2021 winner and Miss Talent Africa 2020.
To create a fair opportunity for local models, trained professional Feline Models will be judged and crowned separately from local entries.”
The winners and runners-up will receive a variety of prizes, sashes, and crowns while the winner will also receive a photoshoot prize from Page.
Van Niekerk concluded that the winner will play an active role in the community and tend to community and charity work and projects.
