THE sixth annual action-packed Independent Schools Rugby Festival is set to take to the field at Woodridge College and Preparatory School this weekend.
The four-day-long festival, which will feature some of the most promising schoolboy talent from 12 schools across South Africa, will kick off on June 22 and come to an end on June 25.
The festival was initiated by St Andrews College and is shared between them and Woodridge every second year.
The schools to compete are St Stithians (Johannesburg), The Ridge (Johannesburg), Waterkloof House (Johannesburg), St John’s (Johannesburg), St Peter’s (Johannesburg), St David’s (KZN), St Andrews (Grahamstown), Kingswood (Grahamstown), Glenwoood House (George), New Brighton Junior Rugby Academy (Port Ellizabeth), Charles Duna Primary School (Port Elizabeth) and Woodridge College and Preparatory (Thornhill).
Apart from top-class rugby, spectators can also enjoy a Ford test drive. For every test drive during the festival, Ford will donate R100, which will be donated to the Charles Duna Primary School in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth.
Other entertainment includes zip-lining, food and merchandise stalls, and a beer tent.
