JEFFREYS BAY – The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) is excited to announce the very first Cuppa For CANSA event to take place in Jeffreys Bay on 30 August at 10:00 at the Jeffreys Bay Bowling Club.
This much-loved fundraising initiative invites community members to come together over a comforting cup of tea or coffee, all in support of CANSA’s essential care and support services.
Cuppa For CANSA is an interactive and heartwarming campaign that encourages friends, family, colleagues, and community groups to spend meaningful time together, while raising funds for the fight against cancer. These events play a vital role in sustaining CANSA’s far-reaching efforts in early cancer detection and education, as well as support services for cancer patients and their loved ones.
Marius de Vries, CANSA’s Sustainability Coordinator in Gqeberha, shared his enthusiasm.
“We’re so excited to be holding our first Cuppa in Jeffreys Bay and really hope to bring the community together in a fun and beautiful way for CANSA,” said De Vries.
This year’s theme, “High Tea in Paris”, promises guests an enchanting morning with the ambience of sipping a Cuppa beneath the Eiffel Tower.
The event includes seating at a beautifully themed table, a cup of coffee or tea, a selection of sweet and savoury treats, a small gift, lucky draws and fabulous prizes, as well as inspiring talks and engaging conversation with fellow attendees.
Renowned motivational speaker, Retha van der Merwe, will inspire attendees with her talk, “Carpe Diem”, and Daniella van Loggerenberg, a medical orthotist, prosthetist and certified compression therapist, will provide valuable insights on lymphoedema treatment.
Tickets are available at R150 per person.
All proceeds will support CANSA’s care and support programmes, which include breast, prostate, and skin screenings, community home-based care, wig and medical equipment hire, breast prostheses and bras, stoma care assistance, support groups and free telephonic or virtual counselling.
“We look forward to welcoming our hosts and guests and hope they enjoy bringing compassion, friendship and warmth to these events, in a usually chilly season of the year, as much as CANSA enjoys sharing this time with them.
“Cuppa truly brings communities together in a special way and gives them the opportunity to help us lead South Africa towards a cancer-free future,” said De Vries.
