The Kouga Express team is all geared up to tackle residents with spray cans or clippers – all for a good cause. The seventh annual Kouga Express Cansa Shavathon, which promises to be a colourful affair, will take over Fountains Mall in Jeffreys Bay from 10:00 to 13:00 this Saturday.

Residents and visitors keen to show their support for this fun-filled, yet meaningful event, can venture down to the promotion court in front of Pick n Pay at Fountains Mall, where the Kouga Express team in conjunction with Fountains Mall, Beautique Salon and Cansa Jeffreys Bay, will be waiting to shave, cut or spray their hair a multitude of colours.

All it will cost participants are a few minutes of their time and a few Rand out of their wallets.

For those less brave, Pick n Pay has sponsored 100 delicious cupcakes that will be up for grabs in return for a donation.

Global Leadership Academy

This year, Global Leadership Academy (GLA) Principal, Stefan Kleyn, has pledged to shave, cut or colour his hair in aid of raising much-needed funds for the local cancer organisation.

However, it all depends on GLA learners whether he will go bald or only transform it into a rainbow of colours. Their ‘decision’ will be determined by votes at a cost of R10 per vote: to shave or spray.

Learners can vote as many times as they like.

Kleyn will join the Kouga Express team from 10:00 to 10:45 where he will hear his ‘hairy’ fate.

He now challenges all residents to help him improve the lives of people with cancer by signing up for the annual Shavathon.

It is hoped that this challenge to ‘be brave and shave’ will encourage hundreds of residents to join him in shaving or colouring their hair – and by doing this, not only create awareness, but also raise funds.

All funds will be used to assist local cancer patients in financial need.
