WITH loads of talent on display, the judges had no easy task deciding on the winner of the first Mayoral Talent Search, which took place on Saturday as part of Kouga’s Opening of the Season.

There could, however, be only one winner, with rapper/singer Gabriel “Rhythmix” Plaatjies from Hankey emerging victorious after tough deliberations.

Dance trio Last Royals from Humansdorp were placed second and in third place was 9-year-old Aprielle, a little girl with a big voice from Jeffreys Bay.

Kouga Mayor Horatio Hendricks congratulated the winners and all the participants. “We were blown away by what we saw. Kouga has some serious talent and we look forward to creating more platforms such as this for that talent to be seen and enjoyed,” he said.

The talent search was arranged by Rochey Walters from Khoi Kulcha and took place at the Dolphin Beach Amphitheatre on Saturday afternoon.
