Multi-talented singer, songwriter, and producer, Yongama Mqadi from Jeffreys Bay, will release his highly-anticipated and evocative new single, Follow you, on May 24, which is expected to be featured on his debut Extended Play (EP) soon.
Mqadi, better known by his stage name, Lloyd Ness, initially began singing in the church choir when he was 10 years old, but his musical career only kick-started at 15 when he began working alongside local musical leaders, including Jeffreys Bay-based rapper, Teboho Sokopo, known as Keemo Bankz.
Mqadi released his debut single, Let me go, with music label, Main Stayn, in April, and has continued to work hard towards carving a special place for himself in the music business with a voice that radiates real passion, and a sound that combines vintage R&B, contemporary, deep house, and amapiano genres.
To further elevate his music career, he recently joined Sokopo’s music label, Empact Music Group, where he can share his unique sound, which he believes to be soul-stirring lyrics that perfectly express love, heartbreak, and everything in between.
“I am trying to build recognition with my capacity to imbue my work with authenticity and passion,” said Mqadi.
He said through his storytelling abilities, his music can be enjoyed universally and personally.
Proving to be one of the industry’s rising stars, and an artist to be watched, Mqadi said he is dedicated to pushing boundaries and redefining his way to the top.
“My music is always packed with soul and passion, whether it is when I am shouting out a strong ballad or laying down a smooth groove,” said Mqadi.
The single, Follow you, will be released on May 24 and can be enjoyed on all major streaming platforms.
Mqadi said that by collaborating with great producers in the studio, the song delivers a sultry anthem celebrating love, and encapsulating the raw intensity of attraction.
He further said that while enjoying his new single, listeners will notice that his velvety vocals glide seamlessly over the intricate production, while the soulful instrumentation showcases his versatility as a musician.
Elaborating on the single, Mqadi said the song is an expression of his love for his partner, and a form of gratitude for her dedication to their relationship.
“Follow you serves as a testament to my artistry and ability to evolve, while staying true to my unique sound,” said Mqadi.
