THE Jeffreys Bay Medical Centre is set to celebrate its tenth birthday on Wednesday, May 15.
Providing excellent service to the community and visitors, the centre – also known as Policlinic – boasts individual doctors, medical practitioners and service providers since much-needed restructuring of services in 2018.
Thus, the centre no longer operates as a group practice.
The well-established Polipharm Pharmacy continues to operate from the centre.
They are joined by general doctors, specialist doctors, psychologist, physiotherapist, audiologist and radiologists – all firm favourites at JBay Medical Centre.
Renal dialysis expanded and can now serve the wider Kouga-community more effectively, while dental needs are taken care of by the long-standing dental practice, a dental laboratory and visiting maxilla-facial specialist.
The services of a dietitian and a counselling psychologist broaden the spectrum of health and well-being services offered at the centre.
The road accident fund and social services have furthermore joined forces.
Adding to the winning recipe, is the new Pansy Café – filling the air with the irresistible smell of coffee and baked goods, as well as various activities offered at the heated pool.
Although the JBay Medical Centre does not offer a 24-hour casualty service, Private Care Ambulance are on the premises to transport patients – day and night.
It is hoped that a 24-hour casualty operator will offer their service in the near future.
