AS the sun set on a balmy night last week, a new star arose: trendsetter restauranteur Jayne Davies introduced the fourth InFood outlet in The Surf Village in Jeffreys Bay – a “one-stop boutique coffee company”.
Funky music paired with designer canapes; the aroma of unique coffees tantalised patrons, children danced and guests were charmed by the speakers who brimmed with appreciation.
Sporting a slogan of “No More Bad Coffee”, this new gem is a multi-discipline brew heaven for connoiseurs and fans alike.
The outlet brims with it all, offering coffee appreciation (from bean to cup), restaurant, specialised roastery, global brands of coffee machines, barista tuition, repairs, consultation in supply to the hospitality industry and event coffee solutions.
All this is set in the trendy, new Surf Village with a dramatic backdrop for the art of roasting. Specialist stores surround the spot.
Spilling the beans
“In 2006, we started our journey in coffee an centered our passion on our common pleasure of a great coffee,” says Jayne.
“Since then we have won awards, crea-ted new coffee blends and style of roasts – the latter travelling far and wide.”
So, why another InFood outlet in JBay?
Jayne says, “We simply ran out of space in all our shops for our new roaster.”
Thus the expansion into an artisan roastery and coffee boutique, a first in the Eastern Cape in a prime location with a deck offering a brilliant sea view and a buzzing kids play area.
“We are able to roast 120kg of coffee a day, while providing customers with exclusive tastes a speciality 2kg roast. For social and sporting events, there is a customised coffee truck with freshly roasted coffee,” says Jane.
Inclusive
Jayne unites coffee lovers and impresses with cultivating and supporting the younger generation who are passionate about this art.
“We want to cultivate the youth by engaging in vibrant social competitions, such as latté art throwhdowns and cupping competitions – getting the youth to identify with coffee, while making in fun and informative,” she says.
