WHETHER buying electricity or paying their accounts, Kouga residents are encouraged to make use of online options to avoid having to leave home during the 21-day Covid-19 lockdown.

Executive Mayor Horatio Hendricks said residents could now also buy electricity online by registering at home.ontec.co.za.

“This option is available to all residents from Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp and the St Francis area who purchase electricity directly from the municipality.”

He said municipal account payments could also be made through internet banking.

“Due to the Covid-19 lockdown, accounts will not be distributed through the postal mail system,” he said.

“Residents can, however, check their account balances with an operator at the Kouga Call Centre at 042 200 2200.”

Account payments can be made to: Kouga Municipality, First National Bank, account number 52540033504.

Please remember to include your municipal account number and surname as the reference.

“The Kouga Call Centre will also continue operating through lockdown so that residents can phone in critical service requests and faults,” he said.

“Alternatively, residents can use the Link service delivery app.”

The Link Powered by the Vodacom app can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play or the App Store.
