Lifesavers rake in medals

TOP Woodridge College lifesavers raked in several medals at the recent South African 2019 National Surf Lifesaving Championships at Kings Beach in Port Elizabeth.


TOP Woodridge College lifesavers raked in several medals at the recent South African 2019 National Surf Lifesaving Championships at Kings Beach in Port Elizabeth.

Despite the lack of decent surf, the team had a great time competing over the three days. With the support of the Vice Chairman of the School Trust and former Woodridgean, Paul Lynch, as well as Haydn Holmes, also a former Woodridgean, the team was fit and well prepared for the event.

Results

  • Kai Lott – SA u.17 flags final (fourth)
  • Chloe Duval – SA u.19 flags final (fourth) and SA u.19 beach sprint final (eighth)
  • Oliver Mitchley – SA u.15 single ski final (ninth)
  • Graydon Mitchley – SA u.17 single ski final (eighth)
  • Jamelia Forbes made it into the finals for the SA u.15 beach sprint, but missed a medal by a whisker.
  • In the SA beach relay final, Chloë Duval, Berenice Chabanel, Jamelia Forbes and Karla Venter showed good form.

  • Berenice Chabanel – SA bronze medal (u.15 flags)
  • Graydon Mitchley – SA silver medal (u.17 long run)
  • Jordan Boswell – SA silver medal (u.19 long run)
