Police are investigating a murder and attempted business robbery in Humansdorp following an incident at a liquor store on February 3, where four armed men targeted the premises, resulting in the shooting and death of an employee.
According to police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, it is alleged that on the morning of February 3, at around 08:10, four men, two of whom were armed with firearms, entered the liquor store through the delivery entrance at the back.
Nkohli said a scuffle then broke out between the suspects and the store’s employees.
“During the commotion, one of the employees was fatally shot, and the suspects managed to flee the scene,” said Nkohli.
He further mentioned that at this stage, it’s unknown whether any items were stolen during the incident.
Nkohli indicated that police are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact a leader in the investigating team on 081 234 7783.
