PICTURE this: you leave the mall, walk outside in the direction where you parked your car and then realise you cannot remember where it is.
You walk around for a minute or two before setting off the alarm to find it, or searching up and down the rows – still not locating your vehicle.
To assist shoppers, who have forgotten where they have parked, Fountains Mall in Jeffreys Bay has now painted yellow markings on the curbs in the parking area.
Fountains Mall Marketing Manager, Nadine Scheepers, says, “We have many senior clients and tourists who are unfamiliar with the layout of the mall. The markings provide them with a reference point to find their cars.”
According to Scheepers, each row is numbered alphabetically and numerically from the one side at Game to the other at Woolworths – starting at A and ending with R.
“On the top of the curb is the letter of the alphabet and the number of the row, while only the letter of the alphabet appears on the side. For example, the parking in front of Wimpy is marked A1 on the left and A2 on the right.”
