The Sarah Baartman Netball team secured a hard-fought third place at the recent u.19 national netball championships, beating 12 teams in the B2 division – a first for the team. Lily Schneider Somerset East) and (pictured) Yondré Jansen (Humansdorp) were selected for the SA u.19 Development Squad. The players are trained by head coach Anina Vlok and assistant coach Gaylon Louis. In another first, Sarah Baartman Netball Umpire Chirano van Heerden received his SA C+ grading, as well as an award for umpiring the final match between eThekwini and Harry Gwala during the national championships in Cape Town.
