FOUR sporting codes will for the first time compete for top honours in the Kouga Mayor’s Cup tournament in April.
“We are very excited that we have been able to include more sporting codes in the Mayor’s Cup this year,” Kouga Executive Mayor Horatio Hendricks said.
“Sport has the potential to change people’s lives for the better and I am honoured to be able to contribute to the development of our local sporting codes through this tournament.”
The first Kouga Mayor’s Cup Pool Tournament will take place at Jeffreys Bay on April 6. For information contact Ruwellyn Kurat at 067 109 5980.
An old favourite, the Kouga Mayor’s Cup Netball Tourney, will also take place on April 6, with the action set to happen in Humansdorp. Contact 083 501 4548 for more information.
The first Mayor’s Cup Beach Volleyball and Cricket tourneys will take place on April 6 and 7. The volleyball will be played at the Jeffreys Bay main beachfront and the cricket at Mentorskraal. For more information with regard to the volleyball, contact Trevor Watkins at 083 441 1721.
Later in the month, on April 20, the first Mayor’s Cup Chess Tournament will be held at the Newton Hall in Jeffreys Bay. For information, contact Petrus Stuurman at 083 974 1924.
Another old favourite, the Mayor’s Cup Golf Tourney, will take place at the St Francis Bay Golf Club on April 26.
