CONSTRUCTION on the new pathway that links the St Francis Central Business District and Sea Vista, has been completed.
Built at a cost of R1.75 million, the pathway, funded by the Kouga Wind Farm Community Trust and overseen by the St Francis Property Owners (SFPO), serves as a safe route for local pedestrians that use the road to commute to work.
A competition was run with local school learners, inviting them to submit drawings, which inspired the creation of 25 mosaics embedded in the concrete surface of the path.
Not only has this created great excitement among the Sea Vista learners, but it has also helped establish a mosaic craft business that employs Sea Vista women.
Also in the pipeline are zebra crossings, landscaping, additional lighting and security cameras.
SFPO would like to commend all who were involved in this project and did their bit towards the betterment of the village.
