A transformer at Ocean View in Jeffreys Bay blew up yesterday morning.
Kouga Infrastructure and Engineering Portfolio Councillor Freddy Campher said the explosion had been caused by people tampering with the electrical infrastructure that had been put in place for the upcoming RDP housing project.
“While the explosion did not affect the electricity supply to formal households, the damage is estimated to be more than R300 000,” he said.
