THE Kouga District Music Awards organiser would like to encourage musicians to participate in the Kouga Viewers’ Choice online music competition by sending a recording of their musical performance by Sunday, November 1.

Mcebisi Majola, founder of the Kouga District Music Awards, says to participate in the competition, musicians in the Kouga area can send a “one-minute video of themselves singing or dancing to a self-composed song”.

The recording can be sent to their WhatsApp number, which will then be uploaded to the Kouga District Music Awards Facebook page. The video with the most reactions will earn a R500 cash prize.

Once the recording has been uploaded, participants will receive their entry confirmation link.

“It is a bit tough to host events due to the limited number of people allowed in a venue space. We have therefore decided to host an online competition on Facebook, which is the most popular social media platform,” says Majola.

Videos need to be sent via WhatsApp on 074 358 8098 by Sunday, November 1.

The public can vote for their favourite musician by reacting to their video on Facebook from November 3 to November 29, while the winner will be announced on Monday, November 30.
