PEOPLE of the Eastern Cape, get out your running shoes, apply your sunscreen, grab a friend or family member and put on your biggest smile because this local event is going to be one to remember.

On August 19, Zsports and Medihelp Medical Scheme will be the proud hosts of the annual Medihelp Nelson Mandela Bay Train Race.

If you’re looking for some adventure, then look no further, as this is the perfect event to showcase your natural born talent by having some good old-fashioned fun.

The race will not only provide some excellent exercise but also give you a run for your money, literally.

Be part of the chase by racing against a Metro Train and absorb the entire electric atmosphere that the community has to offer.

This noble event will not only make you feel great on the outside by also on the inside, as the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa (CHOC) is the designated charity for this year.

The race aims to bring the community together, by providing you with a chance to participate with friends, family, colleagues, social clubs and school relay teams, consisting of five runners and one mountain bike cyclist and for all teams to support CHOC.

Make your mark this year by adding some of your athletic spirit by taking part and reaching the finish line before the machine.

If you don’t consider yourself to be a sprinter, come down to the event anyway, as the public, sponsor representatives and VIPS will have the opportunity to experience the beauty of the Nelson Mandela Bay Train with a thrilling race, alongside the competing teams.

It’s a wonderful family affair and for first time train rider. There are 750 tickets available for the public to purchase, but act quickly as it sells out fast.
