Kabega Park detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing John Rautenbagh (49), a resident at a facility for intellectually challenged adults, who went missing while visiting his friend in Rowallan Park on 1 June.
According to police spokesperson CaSandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that on 1 June, Rautenbagh was visiting a friend in Pollock Street, Rowallan Park, for the weekend.
“According to the friend, on 2 June at approximately 01:00 his beams around the house triggered, but they thought it might be an animal and ignored the alarm. A few minutes later the friend checked the house and noticed John was not in the room and he never returned home,” said Janse Van Rensburg.
She said that enquiries were made with the family and the facility for intellectually challenged adults where he resided, but he could not be traced.
Janse Van Rensburg said that at the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue jeans with a black hoodie and sneakers.
Police are appealing to anyone who can assist in the tracing of Rautenbagh to contact SAPS Kabega Park on 082 302 6159 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.
