The spirit of giving came alive as the Nelson Mandela Bay District Office, working alongside Woolworths, orchestrated a delightful Christmas party that brought smiles and festive magic to less fortunate children nominated by police stations across the district.

Each station was requested to submit the names of two less fortunate children, and the event marked a special day where the children were truly spoiled. All stations were represented, demonstrating the district’s collective commitment to community upliftment and care.

During the event Chris Kale, Regional Manager for Woolworths in the Eastern Cape, handed over two boxes containing clothes and toiletries to the Thuthuzela Rape Crisis Centre.

Kale expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to partner with SAPS and highlighted the importance of working together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and vulnerable members of the community.

The children’s excitement was evident as they received personalised gifts, with smiles and laughter filling the venue. Entertainment included a jumping castle and slippery slide, followed by delicious meals of burgers and wors rolls. The highlight of the day came when Father Christmas made a surprise appearance, much to the delight of the children.

SAPS members and Community Policing Forum (CPF) representatives also joined in the celebrations, sharing in the festive spirit. As the event concluded, everyone departed with full tummies, warm hearts and big smiles.
