RESIDENTS and interested parties have until the end of the month (August) to comment on the draft Spatial Development Framework (SDF) for the Kouga municipal area.
“The SDF is an important guideline for the growth of a region and is a core component of the Integrated Development Plan or ‘IDP’, as it is commonly known,” said Kouga Planning and Development Portfolio Councillor, Ben Rheeder.
“It is a strategic document that sets out how different pockets of land in the region should ideally be organised and used in order to achieve maximum socio-economic and environmental benefits for communities.
“Strategies and policies necessary to achieve this are also outlined in the document.”
The draft SDF is available on the municipal website at www.kouga.gov.za under “Document Library”. The closing date for comments or objections is August 31, 2020.
Comment or enquiries can be directed to Lawrence Ramakuwela at Kouga Municipality’s Town Planning office in Woltemade Street, Jeffreys Bay, or email him at lramakuwela@kouga.gov.za.
All comments or objections must be in writing, clearly stating the name and contact details of those making the submission.
