CYCLING enthusiasts are gearing up to launch a social cycle for young and old in Jeffreys Bay on December 15.

The route will end at Dolphin Beach where the project will be officially launched by Kouga Executive Mayor Horatio Hendricks as part of the Opening of the Season celebrations.

“The benefits of cycling are immense,” says Hendricks.

“There are those who do it simply for fun and those who use it to stay fit and healthy.

“From a developmental point of view, it is also a very practical mode of transport when travelling shorter distances. Not only is it more affordable, but it is also a means of combating air pollution and climate change by reducing the amount of harmful emissions being pumped into the air by cars, motorcycles and the like.”

Keep an eye on the Kouga Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/kouganews for details of the launch, including how to join in the fun.
