ON Friday, July 2, numerous residents around the Eastern Cape received food donations, thanks to Eric Mtyobo and his sturdy red Soul Food truck, as well as his steadfast supporters from the Hankey farming community and Boxer Njoli.

“With the cold front coming our way soon, it is a blessing to help those in need,” said Mtyobo.

“I am honoured to be a small part of helping my fellow residents.”

The support of local suppliers and retail outlets in all regions where Soul Food operates is of vital importance to all branch managers across South Africa, as they are partners that help provide additional food for needy communities.

Soul Food receives monetary donations from individual members of the public, as well as charitable contributions from organisations that enable them to purchase food and continue with daily operations.

“It is through the support of our local business communities and access to their surplus stock that enable us to reach out further than we have before,” he added, “and we would love more businesses to help us wherever they are able. We will happily collect items that could be of use to our communities.”

To be part of this drive to help the community – especially in the month of July, members of the public are encouraged to donate 67 minutes of their time to help others on July 18, Mandela Day.

To assist, contact Eric Mtyobo directly on 079 368 7454.
