THE recent epic surf up and down the East Coast saw many surfers flock to Jeffreys bay, including top-rated professional surfer, Jordy Smith.

Originally from Durban, Smith now resides in Cape Town and made the pilgrimage through the Garden Route to meet the excellent surf at Supertubes.

He wasn’t disappointed, with endless surf for over a week, and surfers from all over the country converging on the 300 metre perfection that is Supertubes.

With the arrival of these surfers, the top surf photographers and videographers arrived as well, to document this feast of high-performance surfing.

While Smith was surfing recently, top South African videographer, Robin ‘Gumby’ Moulang from Cape St Francis, was shooting from the water, capturing some of Smith’s finer rides and huge aerial moves.

Young Jesse Moulang, Robin’s 11-year-old son, was manning the camera from the beach, and captured an incredible moment from the Sony Rx10iv – Smith flying through the air as he attempts a crazy aerial move, and Robin in the water, capturing it all on video.
