LOVE environmental-friendly fishing?
Yes – then tag and release a fish, or even a shark, this holiday in Jeffreys Bay.
Professional fisherman and environmentalist, Duvan van Breda from Fishing South Africa, with Duvan van Breda, offers his expertise to help locals and visitors catch, tag and release fish on a guided tour.
Apart from his expertise and advice, Van Breda provides all the tackle and bait needed, as well as drinks and a light snack.
A drone is used to drop the bait.
“My passion lies in catching and tagging massive sharks from shore, and then releasing them back to where they belong,” says van Breda who represented the WP Fishing Senior A Side at the young age of 19 – a major achievement. “I also enjoy catching kob for the fire, particularly during the festive season. A muscle cracker is just as tasty.”
Van Breda, who boasts a BCom Entrepreneurship degree, has been doing angling tours part time, but as the demand grew, he took a leap of faith and recently started his own business.
