PUT on your running shoes for the biggest 10km road race in Jeffreys Bay – the Caltex Wavelands Holiday Run.

Organised by Jeffreys Bay Striders, and sponsored by Caltex Wavelands and Fresh Stop, the event will see runners take to the streets for a 10km road race at 07:00 and a 5km fun run at 07:10 – starting and finishing at Caltex Wavelands in St Francis Street, Jeffreys Bay on Saturday, December 21.

The run will replace the Drommedaris Holiday Run from previous years.

Caltex Eastern Cape Marketer (CECM) acting CEO, Pat Kelly, said that they were excited to be part of the inaugural race this year. “We believe in adding value to the communities in which we operate, not just as the fuel provider, but also by adding value in creating platforms that encourage healthy living and comradery.

According to him, the run has great potential and will bolster an already brimming events programme for the upcoming holidays.

Freshstop regional business consultant, Roy Price, said the company – which operates its convenience stores on Caltex forecourts – welcomed the opportunity to participate in the sponsorship as supporting sport and recreation aligned with their ethos of promoting clean, healthy living for all.

“We are happy and proud to be able to give something back.”
