ON your marks . . . get set . . . go!
The annual First Choice Race, previously known as the Woodlands Dairy Kouga Multisport Race, ushered in the athletics New Year for more than 1 000 runners and their families who participated in the 15km, 6km and Milki Moo Dash on Saturday, January 5.
The 18th race, presented by Woodlands Dairy in partnership with Kouga Multisport Club, was held at the Victory Christian School in the scenic town of Jeffreys Bay and is registered with Eastern Province Athletics.
It is the first race in their athletics calendar and registered athletes, participating in the 15km race, had the opportunity to earn league points.
In a supporting role was The Kouga Lions Club who took on the role of marshals along the route and provided general support. In giving back to the community, a cheque of R5 000 was awarded to them.
The winners of the female and male 15km categories are Charné Bosman and Melikhaya Frans.
