TOP athletes and rookie-racers from across South Africa are set to put their mettle to the test at the gruelling 120km Expedition Africa Kouga this weekend – putting their endurance to the ultimate test.
Presented by Kinetic Event, the race – the second leg of the three-leg Expedition Africa 120km Adventure Racing series – will leave the starting blocks at Cape St Francis on Friday, September 27, and come to an end on Sunday, September 29.
The first series-event took to the ‘wild’ in Swaziland earlier this year, while the last leg will take place in Drakensberg.
The unique 120km route, will see contestants kayaking for 10km to 15km, mountain biking for 70km to 80km and trekking for 30km to 40km – creating the ultimate adventure.
Top athletes will cross the finish line between 10 to 12 hours after leaving the starting blocks, while the back teams will take between 20 to 24 hours.
All teams to complete the race, will receive a handmade trophy and event T-shirt.
The winning team will receive a free entry into the final leg of the gruelling race: the 120km Expedition Africa Drakensberg.
