Traffic lights to be reset this week

THE traffic lights at Jeffreys Bay should be fully operational again by the end of the week.

Kouga Community Services Portfolio Councillor, Daniel Benson, said the programmable logic controller (PLC) of the traffic lights was affected by a power surge during last week’s electricity interruption.

“There is only one service provider in the Eastern Cape with the necessary authorisation to reset traffic lights when this happens. They have confirmed that they will be in Jeffreys Bay this week to get the lights back on.

“In the meantime, we would like to remind people to treat the intersection as a four-way stop while the lights are out,” he said.
