WOODRIDGE College, close to Jeffreys Bay, achieved a 100% pass rate in the Independent Examination Board (IEB) matric exams for 2019.
Of the 71 learners, 70 (99%) who wrote the examinations achieved a Degree Pass (BD).
“This statistic and the results in general are in line with expectations and our internal examinations, and an improvement on last year’s results,” says Woodridge Marketing and Communications Manager Lynn Niemann.
The top performer for 2019 is Bianca Gascoyne.
She achieved eight distinctions, which include one for Advanced Programme (AP) Mathematics – with 97% for Mathematics being her stand-out achievement.
Dylan Vorster achieved six distinctions, which also include one for Advanced Programme (AP) Mathematics.
Jordan Boswell and Tarryn Webber secured five distinctions respectively, while six other learners achieved three distinctions each.
Dr Catherine Logie, Woodridge Director of Academics, says, “The 2019 Matrics did us proud and we know that they are well prepared for the next step and wish them all of the best as they head off to university. A special word of thanks must go to all the dedicated staff for their hard work in preparing the Matrics for the examinations, as well as their families for their support.”
